Fancy Feet

Remember when you were little, and you used to play dress up?

I know I played all the time. I had my big fluffy skirt, and my bride's veil, and my plastic pearls. I would be a bride, or a mommy, or a nurse, or a teacher...whatever I wanted to be that day. There were even days when I borrowed my brother's construction hat, and I was a construction worker!

When you're little, you can be anything. That's one thing I miss about being little. Nothing stood in my way. I put on the veil, I was a bride. I put on the stethoscope, I was a nurse or a doctor. And when I was tired of being whatever I was, I put my accessories away, and moved on.

Sam has that joy now. She has her long gloves, her Cinderella dress, her plastic pearls, and her fancy shoes. She loves dressing up in every bit of girly glory and flitting around the house in her "heel highs", clomping from room to room because they are too big.

Sam is a princess with fancy feet.

Historical Romance

Finally some new pictures! I know it's been a while since I posted one, but I just scanned some new ones yesterday. Here's one to get you interested, then there are more on my Flickr page.

This picture was taken over the weekend of July 8. My family, minus Aaron, went to a historical timeline event in Windsor, VT. We were a part of the 1700s. On Main St in Windsor there is this completely wonderful cemetary. Sam and I went to check it out, and I caught this picture of her peeking from among the headstones. As soon as I saw the picture, I fell in love with it.

I took it in black and white, and added the sepia toning once I scanned it. If you would like to see the original black and white, it is also on Flickr.

I'd love some feedback, so tell me what you think!

Blackberries

I really don't have a story for this picture. I just like it. :-)

Thunder!! Lightning!! Ah Ah Ah....!

Today we had a thunderstorm. I saw it coming.

I walked up to get the mail this afternoon, and on my way back, I looked up. I could hear the thunder in the distance. By the time I got back to the house, the rumble was louder than when I'd left. Now, when I looked up, this is what I saw. This picture is not tipped, this is looking straight up at the sky from my driveway. I have not modified this in any way! Thats what the sky looked like right before the thunder storm today.

Wow.
